What can a Podiatrist do for me?

I am frequently surprised by the amount of people that ask me “what is a Podiatrist?”

I might be biased, but I believe a good Podiatrist is an essential contact to have.
We all live busy lives. Work, play, exercise - all essential life activities. They all have one thing in common too, they require healthy feet!

Our feet can look and feel far away, and often they can be the furthest thing on our minds, but it is very important to look after them.
I see people daily who come in with concerns with their feet, often having suffered for a while and not known where to turn.

If you have any concerns with your feet, see a Podiatrist.

As a Podiatrist I can assist with foot, ankle and leg pain, injury management, nail and skin conditions or care, footwear advice, running technique and more.

Your Podiatrist is qualified to assess your circulation, nerve function, joint condition, walking or running technique, and the impact of certain health conditions on your feet, such as Diabetes or Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Children’s Podiatry is an area that many are unaware of unless their child is suffering with foot or ankle pain. The developing foot is both complex and vulnerable, and combined with the activity levels of most kids, can lead to concerns. An annual Children’s Foot Assessment is recommended, and any foot, ankle or lower leg concerns should be assessed by a Podiatrist.

Keep active, enjoy life, and if you have any foot or ankle concerns give us a call at Active Health Podiatry and we’ll be happy to help!
